We always enjoy reviewing any table that Asus release and the new 10.1 inch Transformer Book seems to be no exception to this rule. Coming with 2 internal storage options, 32 GB and 64 GB, today we are reviewing the 32 Gig version as its currently coming in an an incredible price of $185.99 (Reduced from $399.99) that we believe warrants a review on our best-budget-table site. One reason we keep coming back to Asus and the range of tables is their superior build quality and reliability.

Their latest offering in the Transformer book range boasts a large 10.1 inch display of the highest quality we have seen to date. With a resolution of 1366 x 768 colors are deep and vibrant. Movie tests were impressive and while you are not going to get the same visuals you do with the latest iPad or Surface Pro, you can rest assured you are not going to be disappointing. Every day tasks such as web browsing or word and excel editing were clear and didn’t cause headaches like some of the cheaper models sometimes do.

The battery life is exception one of the main reasons you should consider this device. With reports of up to 11 hours we were skeptical to say the least, but I am happy to confirm that it lives up to the hype. After an hours intensive use we were still reading 90% life and we continued to use around 10% for ever hour right to the end. Powered by an Atom quad core 1.33 Ghz processor means the power is economically used and a major factor in the great battery life. There is also a built in 2 GB of RAM and when this all teams up with the decent 32 Gig solid state hard drive, performance is up with the best of tables we have reviewed.

Other major features include: Micro HDMI port, Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, web cam and of course the chiclet keyboard which docks nicely and is included in the sale price.

In Review:

  • Excellent battery (up to 11 hours low usage)
  • Built in Wifi and Bluetooth
  • Detachable keyword (making it an excellent choice for students)
  • USB and HDMI out ports
