A look at the tablet market before the holiday season…

I read an interesting article on the Wasington Post technology pages today which put in to light the strength of competition to battle for the most desirable tablets, and just how wide open the market still is. Where Apples dominance once shone through all else, the likes of Samsung, Microsoft and Asus, to name but a few, are clashing sword and shield to reach that coveted number one spot this coming holiday season.

Apple may be first to draw blood however with their upcoming press release which is apparently expected to reveal updates to its tablet line. But will it be all too soon. As we already know, Googles nexus 7 and the Samsun tab3 were released a few months ago and will no doubt be very cost effective by Christmas, so perhaps not, but does that mean we should expect more from other manafacturers before December 25th?

Its certainly most exciting especially seeing the continued growth of mobile computing sales from smart phones to tablet and notebooks continue to rise. I quote from the aforementioned article “Analysts from the International Development Corporation expect tablet shipments to outstrip personal computer shipments in the last quarter of 2013.”

And it should also be noted that while still massively popular with a majority steak of sales in the industry at 32%, it was almost double that the previous year at 60%! It should also be noted that the Android OS and the iOS from Apple each make up about 50% of the worlds tablets.

So what will you be buying this coming holiday season?
